From the beach to peaks at 2,700 metres, but no bungee jumping
In Balagne, the coast and the mountains almost touch: from the beaches of Calvi or L’Île-Rousse, the hinterland climbs within a few kilometres up to Monte Cinto, at 2,706 metres, the highest peak in Corsica. In between, the hilltop villages of Sant’Antonino, Pigna and Corbara overlook terraced olive groves from their rocky outcrops. A spectacular landscape, but no operator in the region currently offers bungee jumping, whether around Calvi, L’Île-Rousse or in the hinterland.

Jump anyway: coasteering at Revellata and canyoning in the Fango
Two local activities come close to the sensation of the void. At the tip of Revellata, near Calvi, coasteering involves following the cliffs by swimming, climbing and jumping directly into the sea from points several metres high. Further south, in the Fango valley near Galéria, canyoning is practised in turquoise pools with around a dozen optional jumps of 1 to 8 metres in height — enough to experience a real sense of vertigo, without an elastic rope.
From Calvi or Île-Rousse, how to reach a real bungee jumping spot
Balagne has the advantage of having its own airport: Calvi - Sainte-Catherine, eight kilometres from the town centre, with Air Corsica flights to Nice, Marseille, Lyon or Toulouse. A seasonal ferry link also connects Île-Rousse to Nice, operated by Corsica Ferries from July to September. In both cases, head afterwards for the Verdon gorges: about two hours' drive from Nice to reach the Pont de l'Artuby, the highest bridge in Europe for bungee jumping.

Three ways to get the adrenaline going without leaving the region: canyoning in the Fango or in the Bonifatu forest, at the foot of Monte Cinto; coasteering along the cliffs of Revellata; and paragliding, with take-offs at the Col de Salvi, at Aregno or near Ostriconi, between sea and mountains.
