A rocky pinnacle, two rivers, and still no bungee jumping
In Corte, the void is contemplated from the citadel: perched on a rocky spur at the confluence of the Tavignano and the Restonica, it overlooks the city high enough to have earned the nickname “eagle’s nest.” All around, the Restonica gorges climb up toward the lakes of Melo and Capitello, at the foot of Monte Rotondo, Corsica’s second-highest peak at 2,622 meters. A setting made for vertigo, but no structure in the region currently offers bungee jumping around Corte or in the center of the island.

The real jumping sensation: the Tavignano gorges
It's in the water, not at the end of a bungee cord, that you'll find the closest sensation. The Tavignano gorges, which start right next to the citadel, are among the longest canyoning descents in Corsica: swims in turquoise pools, slides, and optional jumps follow one another on a course renowned for its sporty and wild character.
From Corte, there's no airport or port: how do you get there to go jumping?
Unlike Bastia or Calvi, Corte has neither an airport nor a port: the town lies halfway along the railway line connecting Bastia to Ajaccio, about 74 km from Bastia on the 158 km line. The two nearest airports, Bastia-Poretta and Ajaccio Napoléon-Bonaparte, are at a comparable distance by road or by the little Corsican train. From either one, head to Nice or Marseille by plane or ferry, then about two hours by road to the Artuby bridge in the Verdon Gorges for a real bungee jump.
