THE VILLAGE OF CENTURI

Centuri – The lobster port

On your tour of Cap Corse during your camping holiday in Corsica, pass through Centuri, a magnificent little fishing port in Cap Corse located about fifty kilometers from Bastia. This peaceful village made up of several small, picturesque and colorful hamlets will delight you !

Like a painting, Centuri offers a maritime decor in multiple colors as we like them in Northern Corsica. With sailboats and fishermen’s boats docking, this charming Corsican village is a haven of peace. During your visit, you will be able to admire a panoramic view of the west coast of the island. Centuri is the first lobster in France !

The islet of Capense shelters the ruins of an old chapel, fortified in the 13th century. During the island’s independence, Paoli established a shipyard on the islet and the village became the military port of independent Corsica.

The Genoese port tower was one of the watchtowers that can be found all along the Corsican coast, built from the 15th century. Go and wander its streets to discover its houses with their green roofs around its port.
South of the village, the small cove of Mute is the starting point for discovering the seabed with its diving club.

Centuri is made up of 7 hamlets placed in an arc, almost all perched on the mountainside which are definitely worth a visit: Camera, Cannelle, Orche, Ortinola, Bovalo, Merlacce, Mute.
