PINÈDE BEACH

Pinède Beach

The Pinède beach in Calvi is a treasure, just opposite the town’s citadel, which served as protection for centuries for the region’s famous port.

Stretching over 5km, it is very busy in the summer period.
Every year it hosts the “Calvi on the Rocks” music festival.

Bordered by pine forests, the beach is monitored by zones in summer: the translucent water is shallow and without holes, often very warm in season due to this shallow depth.

The view of the citadel in the background is just magical !

It is also possible to walk along a good part of the beach without getting too sandy, thanks to a wooden footbridge that borders it.

It is an ideal beach for families

With the possibility of renting deckchairs, eating in straw huts, or doing various water activities such as kayaking, pedal boats or sailing. You will find several tables set up for picnicking in the shade, in the pine forest, as well as a play area for children (near the tennis courts).

Children who want to will also have the opportunity to take a walk along the beach with real little Corsican donkeys, in complete safety, while mom and dad can even go horseback riding.

It is a very touristy beach but as it is large, it is generally easy to find a place for your towel, even in very high season, even if it means moving away from the Lumio side.

You can also easily extend the evening to have an aperitif or dinner there, while admiring the setting sun: it is a quite magical spectacle, where you see the sun descending into the middle of the arm of land, reflected in the reflection of the sea in front of you, while bathing the citadel on your right in its orange light.

Pinède beach is very easy to access. From the port, it can be reached on foot via a very pleasant pedestrian path. It is barely two minutes from certain campsites. The beach train or famous Trinichellu makes several stops along the beach, departing from Calvi station and can take you to Ile Rousse. You can also reach the Pinède Beach in Calvi via the various parking places along the N197 road, which offers several shaded car parks.
