A dizzying landscape, but no bungee jumping platform
Cap Corse is often described as a mountain set on the sea: over barely 40 km in length, the Serra exceeds 1,000 meters in altitude just a few kilometers from the coast. The D80 road winds above the cliffs, the black cliff of Nonza towers over the pebble beach by about a hundred meters, and the Genoese towers of Erbalunga or Centuri watch over the sea from impressive precipices. Enough to make you dizzy: but without any structure currently offering bungee jumping on these sites: neither in Bastia, nor in the municipalities of Cap Corse.

The Teghime viewpoint, between two seas
The sensation closest to the big jump is found in the air rather than at the end of a bungee cord: at the Teghime pass, just above Bastia, a free-flight site allows you to take off with the Gulf of Saint-Florent on one side and the Bay of Bastia on the other. It is one of the rare places in Corsica where you can see the sea on both sides of the Cap from a single takeoff point.
Bastia, the most direct gateway to the Verdon bungee jumping spot
Unlike other regions in the north of the island, Bastia has the advantage of concentrating both the airport and the main port of Haute-Corse. Bastia-Poretta airport, about twenty minutes from the city center, serves Nice and Marseille year-round; the port of Bastia, for its part, offers regular crossings to Nice with Corsica Ferries. In both cases, it then takes just under two hours by road to reach the Artuby bridge in the Verdon gorges: at 182 meters high, it is the highest bridge in Europe for bungee jumping.
The real thrills around Bastia
In the absence of a bungee cord, three local activities really get the adrenaline pumping: paragliding from the Teghime ridges, diving on the wrecks and seabeds of the Cap Corse and Agriate marine natural park, created in 2016 and the largest marine natural park in mainland France, and boat excursions from Bastia to sail along the cliffs to Macinaggio or Centuri.
